At 2pm we were supposed to go clean up the church and then the baptism was at 4pm. But Jared wouldn't take his nap at noon. So 2pm rolls around and he had only been asleep for an hour. I was sleeping too, but Nathan came in and woke me up so we could go clean the church. I was really irritated because it didn't seem like a good enough reason to get up. Of course Jared ended up waking up from the disturbance so we went to the church anyway. I was just wearing sweat pants and a t-shirt and no shoes with plans to change later and a grumpy-I-didn't-get-to-sleep-enough attitude.
Anyway, we walk into the gym and guess what, it's all decorated for a baby shower and there are people yelling surprise! Let me tell you, I was freaked out! The first thing I asked to do was to go change, but i really wanted to just leave the room. I dunno, I was just overwhelmed. I even started crying! I guess they were happy tears, but I never cried before because I was happy. I hate crying in front of people.
But I had a good time. My friend, Diana put it together and it was prefect. Of course,
everything she does is perfect. We played silly games and ate food and I got presents, so there's a bonus. My mom and MIL were both there. That's the first time they've been in the same room since my last baby shower, I think. It went fine though. They were even teammates in a game and won! It's funny because my mom said she wasn't going to come if I had a baby shower since it would be with friends, but that was just to throw me off. There had also been no mention of having a shower through church people, which I wondered about, but wasn't going to ask. But that's because Diana wanted to to be a secret. She's been planning ever since January! So, thanks to Diana, I was definitely pleasently surprised!
Oh, and in case you're interested, I actually tagged this picture with what the gifts inside them are. Just because I'm weird like that. Maybe someday I will want to remember.
