We took a road trip in mid October to visit my great aunt Lael and to scan her old family pictures. It was a successful trip and IO got a lot of good stuff. While we were there she also made us some chicken and dumplings soup from a recipe that has been passed down through the family.
We camped in her back yard, which worked out nicely because the weather's so warm in Pasadena. On the last night of our visit we treated her to dinner at the Olive garden for being a good host.
On the way home we stopped by Malibu beach for some southern California beach fun. It wasn't nearly as cold and windy as Oregon beaches, but still not opressively hot. A perfect beach day, if you ask me!
Then we drove towards San Fransico camping our way up.
We didn't spend too much time in San Fransico, but we did hit the Ghirardelli warehouse!
Our last fun day was in the redwoods of northern California. We had a fun day checking out the trees of mystery, including the ariel tram over the trees. All in all, it was a good trip!
