4th of July

We had a fun 4th of July! It started off Friday with the kiddie parade (see next post) and then we set off fireworks in our driveway. The neighbor kids came over and we had quite an audience!

On Saturday our neighbors set off more fireworks and we got to watch those. Here's a picture of some painting with light with the sparklers.

On the 4th Tera and Greg came over for breakfast and then we watched the big town parade in the morning. It was so perfect because we just walked down the street from our house and arrived mintues before the parade started, plus we were still able to find a spot right on the street so the kids could get candy. Nathan brought his grandma and she was so excited about eht horses that she'd make horse and roster sounds as they passed by. It was funny in a crazy lady sort of way!

For lunch we had a barbeque with Nathan's parents at the place where grandma Alice lives. There was a family there that the Webb's know from when 20 years ago or so. The mom said that Kayla looks like Tera did when she was a baby.

After lunch everyone went to the Molalla buckeroo except for me and Kayla. I've never been terrible interested in seeing the buckeroo, and Kayla needed a nap and would have been miserable sitting in the sun without a nap!

Later we walked around the neighborhood and watched some more fireworks, but we never actually stayed up for the big shows because they started after 11pm. Maybe one of these years when the kids are older... This picture of Nathan and I is from the parade. I don't like it at all and think I look horrible, but it's been a while since we took a picture of us as a couple, so whatever..
