We had a wonderful Labor day weekend with my whole family. It was the first time Matt and Jeff has been there in years and the first time that everyone's been married. Everyone got along great and it was nice to just be with each other.
I took a bunch of pictures, but I'm just going to post the group shot. Notice the awesome color coordination!
Here are some highlights from the weekend:
My parents told the story of how they met and got engaged. I've heard it before, but there were a couple new things this time. Like the fact that one of the dates they went on was one where my dad asked out two girls. Apparently my mom wasn't too phased by it though. She even made the other girl move so she could sit by her future husband!
I learned a lot about Amanda. She is very smart and perceptive and experienced in a lot more things than I am. It was fun to talk to her.
Raime felt my pregnant belly and got to feel baby kicks, despite her fear of pregnant people. Good for her for giving it a try!
We went to church in a little ward that LOVES to have visitors. It's the first ward my parents went to our their first ever labor day weekend with the family years ago (starting the tradition). While my dad was telling that story, as he bore his testimony, Kayla puked all over herself and the pew we were sitting in. Nice timing. Turns out she ate too much sugar over the weekend. After some rest and a lot of diarrhea she was back to normal though.
Both Steven and Amanda got father's blessings from my dad. Steven, for his upcoming kidney transplant (will probably happen in December) and Amanda because she's having troubles getting pregnant have keeping the baby full term. Good luck to them both. The blessings were lovely with all the men in the circle. Jared even asked if he could help too. It was pretty adorable.
Raime wrote tons more about the weekend on her blog, so if you don't already have access you need to ask for it and go check it out! I always write tons in my journal and then never want to elaborate much on the blog..

I think you wrote a lot! Everything you talked about I kept saying, "Oh yeah- that was important," or "Oh yeah- that was funny!" So I think we need to combine our posts! haha!!I'll just have to refer to yours to remember the good stories. And YES!!! I did feel the baby!! Big step for me. I should put that picture on my blog. I forgot about that....
