July 4th - Independence day parade

So, the 4th of July is a huge holiday in my town! There's tons of fireworks, the famous buckeroo complete with rodeo, barbeque contest, a horse caravan, and carnival. Plus there are two parades. One with the young people and kids organizations in the town, which was last night, and the big one this morning. It's quite a spectical for a town with only 7000 people!

Anyway, we went to the parade last night and that was fun. It was a lot bigger than I was expecting! And then this morning we went to the other one. We sat with my neighbors just down the street from where we live (It's so nice to be able to walk there!). Jared loved it! He kept looking at everything in amazement. Plus he got candy!

We went down to find our spot on the parade route about 15 mins before it was supposed to start. But they must have had so difficulties starting because the parade didn't actually pass us until an hour after the official start time. Of course we weren't at the begining of the route, so that was part of it, but we weren't too far, so there must habe been some sort of delay. Jared got tired while we were waiting and feel asleep about 10 mins before it started. He even slept through the fire engine!But then some bagpipes passed and he woke up for that!

Jared got to see horses and trucks and people dressed up in all sorts of outfits. Plus he got to have his first sucker, which he proceeded to get extremely sticky from. It was a good day. When we got home we has some lunch and he got a bath and then went down for a nap right away! He was tired!

PS. oh, and the sunburn on his arm was not from today. It was from a couple days ago.
