This is Jared's pacifier. He is totally addicted to it. He'd suck on one all day long if I let him. On the positive side, it's not his fingers so I can at least take it away if I want to. I keep it/them on a tether that is connected to his clothes. This is for my own convienence and it cuts down of the pacificer being dropped and therefore getting as dirty as it might otherwise. Of course having it always connected to him and available has probably fuled Jared's habit, but there's always tradeoff to everything, right?Actually I don't have a problem with a pacifier. He's just a baby and it makes him happy, so it's okay by me. Once he turns one I'll probably start trying to take it away more, but it'll be slowly. I'll let him have his little dependence for now. We all have them, as this little series will show :)
PS. I actually call it a pacifier when talking to Jared. As opposed to "binkie" or something like that. Not that I'm against baby talk or pet names. I just like "pacifier" better.
